Senior Law & Policy Officer
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience

Focus on Labour Exploitation (FLEX) works to end human trafficking for labour exploitation in the UK and worldwide. FLEX’s unique approach to the problem of human trafficking is focussed on the prevention of labour rights abuses, the protection of the human rights of trafficked persons and the promotion of best practice responses to trafficking for labour exploitation.
We are seeking a full-time Senior Law and Policy Officer. Above all, we are looking for someone who is dedicated to FLEX’s vision and approach, and who will bring new skills, ideas and experiences to FLEX’s work. In particular, we are looking for someone with excellent skills in law and policy research and analysis, as well as a demonstrated ability to translate such research into clear and compelling communications and advocacy outputs, and to cultivate media contacts and coverage. The Senior Law and Policy Officer will be involved in all aspects of FLEX’s project delivery, including planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting. The Senior Law and Policy Officer will also be involved in staff management, strategic planning, fundraising and donor relations.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and passionate about achieving change in the field of human trafficking. You will have experience in working at a senior level on policy issues relevant to human trafficking, including experience working with or within relevant European or international bodies. You will be able to think strategically, to identify opportunities, and to use evidence you have gathered to conduct effective policy advocacy. You will have a track record in developing relationships with media contacts and generating media content and coverage. You will have a solid understanding of UK, European and international law and policy frameworks relevant to human trafficking, labour rights, and migration. You will have substantial project management experience, including experience in budget monitoring, staff management, fundraising and donor reporting.
